6- What is he interested in at the moment?
He wants to bring ancient things back to Egypt from museums in other countries.

7-What kinds of these things he wants to bring back to Egypt?

He won the prize because he discovered the femtosecond.

10-What is remote sensing?
It is the use of satellites to find water under deserts.

11-What happened in the western desert two million years ago?
Heavy rain fell in the western desert and a huge quantity of water collected under the desert sand.

12-Why is remote sensing so important in Egypt and other countries to-day?
Because water has become rare and there is not enough water to cultivate more land to feed the people in the world.

Unit Two

1-When and where was Charles Dickens born?
He was born in 1812 in the south of England.

2-Why was his father went to prison?
His father went to prison because he had got into debt.

لكسب المال Charles went to London to earn money for his family.

4-What did he see in London?
He saw how hard life was for poor people.

5-How did Charles make use of this hard time in London?
Many of the ideas for the stories of his novels and the characters in them came from this time.

6-what did he do in 1834?
In 1834, he started work as a newspaper journalist. He was also writing magazine stories about life in London.

7-What did Charles write in 1838?
He wrote his novel "Oliver Twist "in 1838.

8-What does Dickens show in "Oliver Twist"?
Dickens shows the dark side of the 19th century London.

9- Where did Oliver grow up? Why?
Oliver grew up in a workhouse because his mother had died when he was born.

10-Why did Mr. Brownlow stop the police from arresting Oliver?
Because he was kind hearted man and he wanted to give Oliver a chance to start a new life.






11-What do the homeless children in Oliver Twist look like in your society?
They look like street children who have no parents or suffer very hard life.

12-Why did Oliver become a thief?
Oliver had to obey Fagin and be one of the gang of thieves because he had no family or a place to live in.

13-Why was Oliver punished when he asked for more food?
Oliver was punished because he dared to ask for more food .It was a big mistake of him.
