Egyptians winning the Nobel Prize
The late president Anwar Sadat won the peace prize in 1979.
Naguib Mahfouz won the literature prize in 1988.
Ahmed Zewail won the chemistry prize in 1999.
Mohamed ElBaradei has become the fourth Egyptian to win the Nobel Prize after he and the International Atomic Energy Agency received the 2005 Peace Prize for their work against the proliferation of nuclear weapons.
